CSwadheen (meaning self-reliant) provides multi-skill vocational skills training and career guidance to secondary school students. Basic introduction level hand on training is provided in 20 different skills to students such as welding, electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, gardening and landscaping, health and hygiene, agriculture and food processing etc.

 
We supported the formation of ‘Coppre’ - a social enterprise working towards reviving the copper craft of Pune by giving contemporary designs for the traditional craft. It helped revive the craft & providing livelihood, making it into a sustainable venture

  • Your initiative addresses an underserved need (i.e. limited funds by other donors or fewer organisations addressing the need.)
  • Your initiative addresses a social issue with an innovative approach/strategy.
  • You have thoroughly thought through how your work can be replicable and can scale for large-scale impact
  • Your work/initiative is a part of a collaborative
  • Your initiative ensures sustainability by developing local leadership.
  • Your product/programme design is extensively backed by high-quality, authentic primary and secondary research.
Funding Method

Our grant period is a minimum of 3 years, with the potential to extend for 4-5years. We use the Logic Framework Analysis to review grant projects, and conduct a half yearly financial audit of every project. After the completion of our grant period, we evaluate the impact of a few select organisations to see how they have sustained and implemented the project.
